With over 350 companies in attendance at this year’s career it can be a bit overwhelming to determine which companies are worthy of one’s freshly printed resume. However, through the sea of companies there are a few that stand out. Some of the most visited company booths are: Anheuser-Busch, ExxonMobil, and Procter & Gamble. Ranging from beer, oil and a myriad of other home products, these companies bring everything to the table.

Because many of S&T’s students are based out of St. Louis, the Anheuser-Busch booth is always a hot commodity. According to AB’s website, they own 46% of the nation’s beer sales. Even though the crafter beer industry has a growing market, Anheuser-Busch will stay for the long haul of beer sales. For the craft beer lovers out there, Anheuser-Busch also has a growing interest in the market and owns breweries like Goose Island to be a part of the craft beer industry.  With 12 breweries located throughout the United States, Anheuser-Busch has plenty of opportunity to work in a different part of the country. Being the world’s largest producer in beer, job security within AB speaks for itself, making it one of 2015’s hottest companies at the career fair!

ExxonMobil is also a hot company in attendance. ExxonMobil is the 5th largest company by revenue in the world and has over 75,000 employees. The primary focus of ExxonMobil lies on the oil and gas industry. As a company, they focus on three divisions within the market: upstream, downstream and also have a chemical division. The upstream sectors deals with the extraction and production of oil and natural gas as well as the shipping and wholesale operations. The downstream division deals more with the refining and retail operation side to the energy industry. Because of this, the company hires a diverse workforce to be a part of the team. According to MinerJobs, ExxonMobil typically hires from over 23 different types of majors at this school. ExxonMobil is globally based, making it a desired company to work for if students want to work abroad throughout the world. Make sure to check out ExxonMobil to try and get hired onto one of this year’s hottest companies at S&T!

Procter & Gamble is also a very well visited career fair booth. Procter & Gamble owns over 40 brands, making it easy to work in a consumer product that tickles one’s fancy. Some of the biggest and well known Procter & Gamble brands are: Bounty, Charmin, Crest, Downy, Dawn, Era, Herbal Essences, Old Spice, Pantene, Puffs, Swiffer and Vicks. Procter & Gamble serves about 4.6 billion people globally with the products they produce throughout their various brands. With a market such as that, it makes it hard to not want to impact so many lives through work at Procter & Gamble. All three companies bring a something different to the career search table; however, they would all make wonderful career paths for a young engineer just entering the full-time job world.
