Berglund Records Hat Trick as Blues Continue Winning under Yeo

Two weeks ago, the St. Louis Blues were struggling to win a game, with starting goaltender Jake Allen enduring the toughest stretch of his NHL career.  Backup Carter Hutton wasn’t much better and it was evident that a change was needed.  That change happened to be the firing of one of the greatest NHL head coaches of all time in Ken Hitchcock on the first of February.

Although it was a disappointing end to the 2015-2016 St. Louis Blues season after falling to the San Jose Sharks in the Western Conference Finals, the blue note is preparing for the new season.  It was a playoffs in which their recent failure to make it past the first round, came to an end, as they eliminated the Chicago Blackhawks in seven games.  However, it is time to look forward to the new season as the Blues opened up against the Chicago Blackhawks on Wednesday night.

BLUES ELIMINATE BLACKHAWKS IN GAME 7

If the first round matchup between the St. Louis Blues and Chicago Blackhawks was any indication of what is to come in the Stanley Cup Playoffs, we are in for a very intense and exciting couple of weeks.  What a series it was between two of the best teams in the National Hockey League.

Blues Shutout by Crawford, Blackhawks

It was a big day for sports fans of all kinds on Sunday.  While four NFL teams battled for the chance to play in Super Bowl 50, the heated rivalry between two division foes was taking place in the NHL.

The St. Louis Blues traveled to the United Center in Chicago to take on the Blackhawks. St. Louis (28-16-8) was unable to put anything past Chicago goalie, Corey Crawford, who captured his NHL leading seventh shutout of the season.  Meanwhile, the Blackhawks (33-15-4) were able to get back into the winning column after losing their previous two games.
